> Consists of a team of health care professionals that provide prehospital emergency care + transport. EMS is governed by state laws

EMT Licensure Criteria + How the Americans With Disabilities ACT (ADA) Applies
> [ ] High school diploma or equivalent [ ] Proof of immunization against certain communicable diseases [ ] Background check and drug screening [ ] Valid driver’s license [ ] Completion of a recognized health care provider BLS/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course [ ] Completion of a state-approved EMT course [ ] Completion of a state-recognized written certification exam [ ] Completion of a state-recognized practical certification exam [ ] Demonstration of the mental and physical ability necessary to safely and properly perform all the tasks and functions described in the defined role of an EMT [ ] Compliance with other state, local, and employer provisions
>> The ADA ; 1. Protects people who have a disability from being denied access to programs and services that are provided by state or local governments 2. Prohibits employers from failing to provide full and equal employment to the disabled 3. Title I of the ADA a. Protects EMTs with disabilities who are seeking employment b.
